Description
Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse
Location: Jackson, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 3 shifts per week (Monday-Friday)
- Weekend shifts and/or on-call as needed (1-2 weekends per month)
- Holidays and weekends required if needed
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed
Job Description
- Circulating nurse role in all surgical areas except cardiovascular surgery
- Experience required in circulating for cases including:
- Craniotomies
- Laparoscopic procedures
- Endovascular
- General surgery
- Orthopedics
- Neurosurgery
- Gynecology
- Urology
- Robotics-assisted surgeries
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
- Minimum 2 years of OR circulating nurse experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- Experience in Orthopedics, Neurology, Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN), and Urology
Background and Compliance
- Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including nationwide and international if applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
- EPIC test-out required prior to or shortly after start (one attempt only; failure results in contract cancellation)
- Appearance standards must be reviewed and signed prior to start
Additional Notes
- Locals and first-time travelers are accepted at the same rate
- Clinician interview required before placement
This position is ideal for experienced OR Registered Nurses comfortable with a variety of surgical specialties and who meet the outlined certifications and compliance requirements.
