Description
Registered Nurse - Rehabilitation (Travel)
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility Overview
- Inpatient rehabilitation hospital with 65 beds
- Regional referral center offering rehabilitation for stroke, traumatic brain injury, amputation, and other conditions
- Provides a full continuum of post-acute rehabilitative care including physical, occupational, and speech therapies
- Accredited by CARF and Joint Commission
- Not a skilled nursing facility (SNF)
- Located in the mountains of Western North Carolina with a pleasant year-round climate
Unit Details
- Patient-to-nurse ratio: 5-6 patients per nurse
- CNAs available on all shifts
- Unit secretaries provide 11 hours of support daily
- Equipment includes IV pumps, specialty beds, feeding pumps, lifts, transfer equipment, and life vests
- Documentation system: Meditech
- Scheduling: Mostly 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, primarily on weekends
- No floating policy; all units are connected and interchangeable
- Procedures on unit include dialysis (performed by nurses from another facility)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of rehabilitation nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
