Description
Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Location: San Antonio, TX
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7A-7:30P and 7P-7:30A (rotating shifts)
Hours per Week: 36
Call Requirements: Yes (every other weekend)
Unit & Work Environment
- Unit: Emergency Room (ER)
- Documentation System: Meditech (preferred experience)
- Floating required as needed (travelers must comply with floating policy)
- Procedures performed: Conscious Sedation, Intubations, Behavioral Health Watch, Sepsis management, Stroke (tPA administration), Chest pain (Heart Alerts)
- Dress Code:
- Scrubs: Navy for RNs; undershirts and jackets in white, navy, or black only
- Nails: No acrylic, max length ¼ inch, clean, no chipped polish
- Hair: Off shoulders, natural color
- Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; uncovered body art addressed individually
- Piercings: Only ear piercings visible; other visible piercings prohibited
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Qualifications
- CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) certification
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Experience with Meditech documentation system
Additional Information
- Travelers must be prepared to float to other units as needed
- This role involves working in a fast-paced ER environment with diverse patient needs
- Attendance and floating policies are strictly enforced
