Description
Registered Nurse - Post Partum/Mom Baby
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 5 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: Mother Baby Unit
- Beds: 34 private couplet rooms
- Staff per shift:
- Day: 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 1 PCT/secretary
- Night: 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 1 PCT/secretary
- Patient Ratios: 1:3-4 couplets
- Equipment: Alaris pumps, Bilirubin blankets/lights
- EMR System: Cerner
- Floating Areas: Labor & Delivery (L&D) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Post Partum nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior travel experience (preferred but not required)
- Experience caring for patients on Magnesium Sulfate post-delivery
- STABLE certification (preferred)

Work Schedule & Environment
- Hours per week: 36
- Weekend shifts required; no on-call shifts
- Dress code: Navy blue and white scrubs
- Best fit: Team player who enjoys teaching
Additional Notes
- Candidates without Mother Baby experience will not be considered
- The unit values nurses who are collaborative and supportive educators
