Registered Nurse - Post Partum/Mom Baby

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Information

  • Unit: Mother Baby Unit
  • Location: 5th Floor
  • Beds: 34 private couplet rooms
  • Staff per shift:
    • Day: 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 1 PCT/secretary
    • Night: 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 1 PCT/secretary
  • Patient Ratios: 1:3-4 couplets
  • Equipment: Alaris pumps, Bilirubin blankets/lights
  • EMR System: Cerner

Job Description

  • Provide nursing care on the Mother Baby Unit, including caring for patients on Magnesium Sulfate post-delivery
  • Typical procedures include circumcisions
  • Floating assignments may include Labor & Delivery and NICU
  • Dress code: Navy blue/white scrubs
  • Weekends required; no on-call shifts

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Post Partum nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior travel nursing experience preferred
  • STABLE certification preferred
  • Team player with a passion for teaching

Work Hours

  • 36 hours per week
