Description
Registered Nurse - Post Partum/Mom Baby (Travel)
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: Mother Baby Unit
- Location: 5th Floor
- Beds: 34 private couplet rooms
- Staff per shift:
- Day: 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 1 PCT/secretary
- Night: 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 1 PCT/secretary
- Patient Ratios: 1:3-4 couplets
- Equipment: Alaris pumps, Bilirubin blankets/lights
- EMR System: Cerner
Job Description
- Provide nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns
- Typical procedures include circumcisions
- Caring for patients on Magnesium Sulfate post-delivery
- Floating to Labor & Delivery and NICU as needed
- Team player who enjoys teaching
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of postpartum nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- HHCCA - De-escalation Skills in Healthcare Setting certification
Work Schedule
- 36 hours per week
- Weekends required
- No on-call shifts
