Description
Registered Nurse - Telemetry
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Night (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), every other weekend
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Telemetry, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care focused on quality outcomes and customer satisfaction. You will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans, supervise licensed and non-licensed staff, and apply evidence-based practice within a Practice Governance framework. The role includes mentoring and precepting staff, promoting teamwork, and participating in quality improvement and regulatory compliance efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent clinical decisions.
- Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise patient care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
- Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during the stay and at discharge.
- Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; serve as a mentor and preceptor.
- Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives and comply with regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
- Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Acute care nursing experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
