Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel Assignment

Location: Denver, Colorado
Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) - Multi Trauma Unit (20 beds)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Overview

• Level 1 trauma center with a highly complex and acute patient population
• Unit staffed with approximately 40 personnel
• Day shift: 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, 3 techs
• Night shift: 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, 2 techs
• Patient ratio approximately 1:4 (charge nurse is patient-free)
• Equipment includes ventilators, feeding pumps, IV pumps, wound vacs, specialty beds, suction devices, and chest tubes
• Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech / CPN
• Strong teamwork culture with motivated nurses and supportive charge nurses
• Excellent tech support on both day and night shifts
• Collaborative environment with engaged physicians

Typical Procedures and Skills

• Managing chest tubes, trauma patients, tracheostomies, and suction
• Bedside bronchitis care
• Placement of chest tubes

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Colorado
• Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in an acute care setting
• Ability to manage chest tubes

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with Meditech EMR system
