Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Case Manager)
Location
- Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (40 hours per week)
- No weekend or holiday shifts required
Department and Role
- Case Management in Acute Care Coordination
- Coverage primarily on inpatient nursing units, with potential for Emergency Department and Maternity coverage
Key Responsibilities
- Discharge planning and utilization review using InterQual criteria
- Fast-paced patient discharge turnaround
- Coordination of acute care services
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience with MCG/InterQual reviews
- Acute Care Coordination and discharge planning experience
- Strong communication, time management, organizational skills, leadership, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities
Orientation
- 3 to 5 days of unit/department-specific orientation
Certifications and Licenses
- Current BLS certification required
- Valid driver’s license required at time of application
Additional Requirements and Policies
- Must pass a pass/fail exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%; failure results in termination
- Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Candidates cannot be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with certain healthcare systems within the radius
- Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply will result in contract termination
- Return to Office (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO extensions allowed
