Description
RN Oncology Infusion Clinic - Adult
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Job Summary
Provide nursing care to adult oncology infusion patients under general supervision. Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and other medications, monitoring patient responses, assisting physicians during procedures, and educating patients and families about chemotherapy and related care.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer oral, subcutaneous injections, chemotherapy drugs, and other medications as ordered.
- Consult with medical personnel regarding chemotherapy and side effects.
- Document patient responses and changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians during conscious sedation and minor diagnostic procedures.
- Monitor physiological data and intervene as necessary.
- Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Communicate care plans to patients and families during clinic visits and discharge.
- Provide chemotherapy-related education and answer patient/family inquiries.
- Schedule patient follow-ups and coordinate care through referrals and phone calls.
- Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma.
- Minimum of 1 year of oncology nursing experience, with oncology experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration certification.
- Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate.
Work Schedule
- Shift length varies between 8 to 12 hours.
- Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
- Clinic operates 7 days per week.
- Typical workweek is approximately 40 hours.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
