Job Overview

• Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
• Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days (12-hour shifts, 3am-3pm)
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Unit Size: 43 beds
• Orientation: Mandatory 7 days (Week 1: Mon-Fri, Week 2: Mon-Tues, 8-hour days)

Job Description

• Provide emergency care nursing in a busy ER treating an average of 165 patients daily.
• Work includes care for a wide range of medical complaints and some trauma cases.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, police department, and behavioral health teams.
• The ER includes a specialized behavioral health unit staffed by nurses and techs trained in mental health care.
• The environment fosters teamwork and a family-like atmosphere with a mix of new and experienced nurses.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience
• Current Indiana RN license
• Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA only)
  • ACLS (AHA only)
  • PALS (AHA only)
  • TNCC
• Experience with EPIC charting system (required)
• COVID-19 vaccination required

Additional Information

• No floating to other units/departments
• Dress code: Caribbean Blue scrubs
• Non-billable orientation hours: 8 hours (orientation attendance is mandatory)
• Call-off policy: Cancellation allowed up to 24 hours before shift for the 13-week assignment
• Prior travel experience is requested to be listed but not explicitly required
