Description
Registered Nurse – Med Surg (Telemetry)
Location: Terre Haute, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Unit & Patient Population
- Med/Surg unit with 32 beds, including remote telemetry monitoring (telemetry only if ordered, monitored 24/7)
- Patient types include:
- Stable ventilator patients
- Bipap patients
- Acute and chronic renal failure patients
- Dialysis patients
- Fluid overload cases
- General medical and surgical patients
- Care provided under Internal Medicine physicians, Family Practice, and Hospitalist overflow
Clinical Responsibilities & Skills
- Management of IV drips including:
- Dopamine at a constant rate (5 mcg, no titration) for renal perfusion
- Heparin administration
- Telemetry monitoring as needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
Additional Information
- Night shift schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each
- Radius rule: Candidates must be located between 50 and 100 miles from the facility (no candidates within 50 miles accepted)
