Physical Therapist (Rehabilitation Therapy) – Contract

Location: Paso Robles, California
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours per Week: 40 hours (8 hours/day, 5 days/week or possible 4x10 schedule)

Job Summary

Provide physical therapy rehabilitation programs to improve patient mobility, function, and strength in an outpatient clinic setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients using physical therapy and rehabilitation techniques.
• Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and Aides in all aspects of patient care.
• Communicate with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and follow up on prescriptions, test results, and authorizations.
• Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and walking safety, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Participate in business marketing and referral processes as needed.
• Adhere to HIPAA policies and protect patient privacy in compliance with federal and state laws.
• Comply with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.

Physical Demands

• Frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, and lifting during work hours.
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds and assist patients with mobility restraints and transfers.
• Must remain alert to ensure patient safety throughout the workday.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in California
• Degree in Physical Therapy
• Minimum of 1 year of Physical Therapist experience, including experience within the last year

Preferred Qualifications

• Continuing education courses in physical therapy.
