Description
Registered Nurse - ICU
Location: Idaho Falls, Idaho
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours per Week: 36 (3 shifts of 12 hours each, every other weekend)
Unit Details
- ICU with 29 beds in a Level 2 trauma center
- Patient Ratios: Typically 1:1 or 1:2; occasionally 1:3 for patients ready to leave ICU
- No CNAs on unit; one telemetry tech available
- Equipment includes Aleris pumps, GE monitors, Edwards EV 1000 and CCO, Primaflex CRRT, Cardiohelp ECMO
- Documentation system: Meditech
- Floating policy: Travelers float first to Emergency Department or Step Down units
- On-call only when census drops; otherwise no call required
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Idaho
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
Additional Information
- The ICU supports a heart program with approximately 200 cases per year
- Advanced therapies available including CRRT, Impella, IABP, and ECMO
- Burn center opened recently (April 2019)
- Average ICU staff experience is 12 years, indicating a highly skilled team environment
