Registered Nurse (NICU) - Travel Assignment
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Number of Beds: 84
- Number of Staff: 160 (including Charge CNC Nurse, RN, Unit Secretaries, Respiratory Therapists)
- Patient Ratios:
- NICU: 2:1
- NSCU: 3:1
- Equipment Used: Medela, Alaris, Ohmeda, Drager, Philips and GE ECG monitors
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Neonatal Notes Manager / Meditech
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Minimum 1 year of recent Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience within the last year
- Acute care experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Qualifications
- Level IV NICU experience
- Prior experience with Meditech EMR
- Experience working in large teaching facilities
Typical Procedures Performed
- IV therapy
- Whole Body Cooling
- Surgical cases including NEC (Necrotizing Enterocolitis), PDA (Patent Ductus Arteriosus), CVC (Central Venous Catheter)
- PDA ligations
- High Frequency Ventilation
- Chest tube management
