Registered Nurse (L&D) - Minnesota
Job Details
- Location: Hibbing, Minnesota
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour shifts, rotating day and night (7a-7p; 7p-7a)
- Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun shifts, days and nights)
- Holidays: Rotate with permanent staff
- Call Requirement: None
- Workload: Approximately 30 births per month
- Patient Care Setting:
- 4 private LDRP suites
- 5 additional MedSurg rooms for overflow postpartum patients
- 2 triage rooms
- No NICU; babies requiring higher care are transferred to a facility about 60 minutes away
- Floating: Not required unless experienced with MedSurg; possible float to MedSurg unit
- EMR System: Epic
- Scrubs: Provided
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- COVID-19 Vaccination (with certification)
- STABLE certification preferred (not required)
Experience & Skills
- Specialty: Labor & Delivery (L&D)
- C-section experience is NOT required; RNs assist with recovery alongside PACU RN
- Staffing ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
Summary
This is a 13-week L&D RN contract position in Northern Minnesota with rotating 12-hour day and night shifts, weekend rotation every third weekend, no call, and no NICU onsite. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, NRP, and COVID vaccination. The role involves care in private LDRP suites with occasional MedSurg overflow and no mandatory floating unless MedSurg experience is present.
