Cath Lab Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Arlington, Virginia


Position Details

  • Job Title: Cath Lab Registered Nurse (Circulator)
  • Location: Arlington, Virginia
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (07:00 - 17:30)
  • Call Requirements:
    • 2-3 call shifts per week (long or short call)
    • 2 call weekends in a 6-week period
    • Short call during weekdays: 17:30-20:00 post-shift as backup if cases are complete; stay if cases are running
    • Weekend short call: backup from 07:00-14:00 Saturday and Sunday
    • Long call: overnight emergency call 17:30-07:00, must be on-site within 30 minutes of page
    • Weekend long call covers Friday 17:30 through Sunday 07:00 for emergent and non-emergent cases

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
  • Minimum of 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including recent experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); medical or religious exemptions allowed with proper documentation and agency approval
  • Negative TB test (PPD, Tspot, or QGold) within 1 year of start; annual TB questionnaire required
  • Negative 11-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (time sensitive, complete within 48 hours of signing)
  • Fit mask test within last 12 months required (specific mask brands accepted); exemptions reviewed case-by-case
  • Adult TDAP vaccine required if working in certain units (confirm if applicable)
  • Required immunizations or positive titers for: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year, attesting ability to meet physical demands of position

Additional Requirements & Documentation

  • Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during hours of service
  • Proof of E-Verify or attestation required
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and education verification required and must be current
  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Completion of employment application/resume and skills checklist as applicable
  • Radiation badge and attestation of prior radiation exposure required for Cath Lab staff
  • Facility-specific documents and policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start, including confidentiality, code of ethics, dress code, infection control, parking, and patient safety goals
  • Completion of facility online orientation and EPIC training modules as required (EPIC system used: CUPID Cath)
  • Candidate must wear both agency and facility badges at all times

  • Scrubs provided by hospital
  • Possible exposure to COVID-19
  • Weekend and call shifts required as detailed above
