Registered Nurse (RN) - OR

Contract Length
- 12 weeks
Work Setting
- Pre-op and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in an outpatient surgical center
- Unit details:
- Pre-op beds: 9 (1:1 patient ratio)
- PACU beds: 15 (2:1 patient ratio)
- Staff: 21 RNs on day and night shifts
- Equipment: Critical care level
Schedule
- 36 hours per week
- No weekends or holidays required
- Night shift is optional
Job Description
- Approximately 95% orthopedic cases including ACL repairs, total joint replacements, and arthroscopic procedures
- Responsibilities include starting IVs, preparing patients for surgery, and recovering patients through phases 1 and 2 post-anesthesia
- Data collection and patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Orthopedics experience, including comfort with ACL repairs, total joint replacements, and arthroscopic procedures
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- De-escalation skills
