CT Tech - Radiology (Travel)

Location: Danville, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Facility & Unit Overview

  • 250-bed academic community hospital with a census typically around 100-110 patients
  • Radiology Department located on the 2nd floor
  • Equipment includes GE VCT 64 slice and GE Brightspeed 16 slice CT scanners
  • Electronic Health Record system: Meditech
  • Patient population primarily adults and geriatrics; pediatric cases are rare
  • No call or float requirements
  • Weekend hours are variable, covering for staff absences

Position Details

  • Role: CT Technologist
  • Shift: 1st shift
  • Weekly guaranteed hours: 40
  • Number of openings: 1
  • No call requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in Virginia
  • Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
  • ARRT certification
  • BLS certification prior to start
  • Must pass random drug screening and complete a criminal questionnaire/consent form
  • Critical thinking skills and proficiency in CT tasks required

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience with CT imaging related to diagnoses such as pulmonary embolism, stroke, kidney stones, appendicitis, chest pain, abdominal pain, and motor vehicle accident trauma
  • Team player with a positive attitude

Orientation & Additional Information

  • Orientation sessions are bi-weekly on Tuesdays
  • Dress code: scrubs of any color; jeans and leggings are not acceptable attire
  • Located in a small city known for parks, trails, historical architecture, and cultural attractions

Notes

  • Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
  • No call or float requirements for this position
