Description
Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Location: Bridgton, Maine
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (flexible scheduling including days, mids, nights)
Hours per Week: 36 (including 10 weekend shifts per contract)
Call Requirements: Yes
Float Requirements: Yes
Facility & Unit Overview
- Critical access hospital with 25 beds
- Emergency Department (Trauma Level III)
- Patient ratio: 1:4
- Equipment includes Level I infuser and telestroke capabilities
- Electronic Health Records: Omnicell, Cerner, SBAR
- Patient population: Acute emergency cases including trauma, stroke, STEMI, and code situations
- Common diagnoses/treatments: Dysrhythmias, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV starts, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, CVA, ortho-trauma, head injury, isolation precautions, triage
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
Preferred but not required: CPI, NRP
Required Experience & Skills
- Valid RN license in Maine
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Proficient in blood product administration, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation administration
- Experience with ortho trauma cases
- Experience with Cerner Electronic Health Records system
- Skilled in managing dysrhythmias, phlebotomy, IV starts, IV vasopressors, triage, and patient stabilization for trauma, stroke, and cardiac emergencies
Additional Notes
- Must be flexible with shift scheduling; no fixed number of days per shift
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
