Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Location: Washington, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 guaranteed hours weekly)
Weekend Hours: As required by the facility
Float Requirement: Must be willing to float

Job Summary

Provide direct patient care for all age groups in the Emergency Department, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize care and comfort. Work within the scope of nursing practice and adhere to state nursing regulations and facility standards.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year
• Current certifications:

  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association
  • TNCC
  • NIHSS
  • ABCP
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrated clinical expertise in Emergency Nursing
• Strong human relations and communication skills

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk most of the time during shifts
• Lift and push patients on stretchers and wheelchairs
• Work primarily in a clean, air-conditioned environment
• Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, and occasional kneeling, crouching, and crawling

Equipment and Systems

• Use of EPIC electronic medical record system
• Familiarity with all Emergency Department equipment

• Scrub color: Black
• No unacceptable attire specified beyond scrub color requirement
