Registered Nurse - Orthopedic Surgery
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 26 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: Orthopedics (J6)
- Number of Beds: 32 individual rooms
- Staff per Shift:
- Day: 1 charge RN, 6 RNs, 1-2 LPNs, 3 PCTs, 1 HUC
- Night: 1 charge RN, 5 RNs, 1-2 LPNs, 2 PCTs, 1 HUC
- Patient Ratios:
- Day shift: 5:1 (stretch 6:1)
- Night shift: 6:1 (stretch 7:1)
- Equipment Used: Walkers, Bedside Commode, Bladder Scanners, CPM, Sky lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Lift, Maxi Move, Vital Sign Machine, Hover Mat, Bair Hugger, Wheelchairs
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Cerner
Typical Procedures
- Dressing changes
- Suture/staple removal
- Foley catheter care
- NG tube management
- Wound Vac maintenance and removal
Schedule & Work Hours
- Hours per week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- BLS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- Experience in Orthopedic Surgery
Preferred Qualifications
- Hospital experience
- Orthopedic experience
