Description
Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)
Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee
Unit: 5 East Ortho/Spine
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit & Work Environment
- Unit Type: Orthopedics/Spine
- Number of Beds: 26
- Patient Ratio: 6:1
- Staffing Support: Unit secretaries, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Navigator
- Equipment Used: Coolers, walkers, Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs), Continuous Passive Motion machines (CPMs)
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Scheduling: Requires 4 weekend shifts per schedule
- Floating Policy: Rotation
- Patient Experience Goal: 72% satisfaction
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs
Job Responsibilities & Procedures
- Strong orthopedic background required
- Procedures commonly performed: Knee and hip replacements, multi-level spine surgeries
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience, including within the last year
- Orthopedics experience
- BLS certification
- NIHSS certification
- American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (Multi State Cert) (ABCP)
