Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)

Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee
Unit: 5 East Ortho/Spine
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36


Unit & Work Environment

  • Unit Type: Orthopedics/Spine
  • Number of Beds: 26
  • Patient Ratio: 6:1
  • Staffing Support: Unit secretaries, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Navigator
  • Equipment Used: Coolers, walkers, Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs), Continuous Passive Motion machines (CPMs)
  • Documentation System: Meditech
  • Scheduling: Requires 4 weekend shifts per schedule
  • Floating Policy: Rotation
  • Patient Experience Goal: 72% satisfaction
  • Dress Code: Navy scrubs

Job Responsibilities & Procedures

  • Strong orthopedic background required
  • Procedures commonly performed: Knee and hip replacements, multi-level spine surgeries

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Tennessee
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience, including within the last year
  • Orthopedics experience
  • BLS certification
  • NIHSS certification
  • American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (Multi State Cert) (ABCP)
