Cath Lab Tech

Location: Cedar Park, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM


Job Description

  • Assist with cardiovascular procedures to analyze, diagnose, and treat the cardiovascular system.
  • Monitor vitals including heart rate and rhythm.
  • Anticipate case changes, catheter positioning, and physician needs during procedures.
  • Maintain strict sterile fields and handle specialized supplies aseptically.
  • Educate patients on post-procedure care and site monitoring.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Texas
  • Cath Lab Technologist with at least 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
  • High school diploma or equivalent with two years of cumulative relevant experience, OR
  • Associate’s or Technical degree, OR
  • Four years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience

Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS Provider certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • One or more of the following credentials:
    • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CCI)
    • Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)

Required Documentation & Onboarding Credentials

  • Current professional license/certification verification with primary source validation within 30 days prior to assignment start.
  • Resume/Profile and at least two professional references.
  • Driver’s License or State ID (valid, not expired, matching address requirements).
  • Completion of specialty exam demonstrating competency in Cath Lab specialty (minimum 80% passing score).
  • Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics (minimum 80% passing score).
  • Health and immunization documentation including:
    • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations accepted)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations accepted)
    • Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
    • 2-step PPD or IGRA testing for TB with annual updates
    • Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start)
    • Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
  • Background checks including criminal history, EPLS, and drug screening (12-panel) within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
  • Employment and education verifications within 90 days prior to start, updated annually or after breaks in service.
  • Confirmation of assignment documentation for initial and extension periods.
  • Skills checklist for clinical competency completed within one year of start and updated annually.

  • Strict adherence to aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance is essential.
  • Patient education on post-procedure care is part of the role.
  • Prior travel experience is not specified as required.

This position requires a highly skilled Cath Lab Technician with appropriate credentials and the ability to work a day shift in a cardiovascular procedural setting.
