Description
Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location
- Portland, Maine
Employment Type
- Travel contract
- Contract length: 26 weeks
Schedule
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend hours: 36 to 48 hours (unless otherwise noted)
- Call requirement: Yes, 2 hours for the oncoming shift
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Maine
- Minimum 3 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification
- NRP certification
Unit and Patient Information
- Patient types: varied, including acute and critical care patients
- Patient ratios: acute care 1:25, critical care 1:8
- Equipment used: Drager V500 and VN500 ventilators, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, Vapotherm
- EMR system: EPIC
Preferred Experience
- NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience
Work Environment and Culture
- Team size: 14-16 RRTs covering the entire facility
- Personality fit: flexible, team player, strong communication skills
- Dress code: scrubs provided or flexible
Additional Information
- High vacancy rate (36%) and operational deficit (15%) in the department
