Description
Certified Surgical Technician (CST) - Operating Room
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Employment Type: Travel
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Three 12-hour day shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36
On Call: Required, averaging 5-6 weekday shifts and 1 weekend shift every 8 weeks
Unit Information
- Operating Room with 11 OR beds
- Patient ratio: 1:1
- Day shift staffing: ~8 RNs, 8 Scrub Techs, 5 Surgical Support Techs
- Night shift staffing: 1 charge RN and 1 scrub tech in-house with call team backup
- Equipment includes a variety of OR beds and robotic systems (Da Vinci Xi)
- Electronic Medical Record system: Epic
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
- Certification through NBSTSA or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Training or education on the Epic electronic health record system or USP 800 Hazardous Drug Risk
Preferred Skills
- Experience with multi-level spine fusions and a variety of robotic cases (GYN, colorectal, general surgery)
- Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with team members
Job Responsibilities & Procedures
- Assist in total joint replacements, neuro surgeries, and robotic-assisted procedures
- Support a variety of surgical cases with minimal ENT, dental, eye, or plastic surgery involvement
- Participate in on-call rotation as required
Additional Information
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Floating to other areas is not required
This position is ideal for a Certified Surgical Technician with solid experience in orthopedic and robotic surgery who is comfortable working day shifts with on-call responsibilities in a busy operating room environment.
