Job Opportunity: RN CVOR

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)


Job Details

  • Shift: Monday to Friday, rotating between 8-hour shifts (06:50–15:20) or 10-hour shifts (06:50–16:50), start time may vary (as early as 06:00) depending on case volume.
  • Call: Rotating call during weekdays and weekends based on department needs. Holiday call hours as needed.
  • Responsibilities include Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) cases; if no CVOR cases, traveler will assist with general cases.
  • Must be proficient with EPIC electronic health record system.
  • May be required to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Wisconsin
  • Minimum 2 years of CVOR nursing experience, with CVOR experience within the last year
  • Prior travel nursing experience
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification
  • Successful completion of Ascension EKG Exam
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Documentation of immunizations and health screenings including:
    • Two MMR vaccines or positive titer (no declinations accepted).
    • Two Varicella vaccines or proof of immunity (no declinations accepted).
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
    • Annual influenza vaccine recommended (declinations accepted with mask requirement).
    • Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
  • Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; if positive, negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required.
  • Fit test for respiratory protection (3M 1860 Regular, Small, or 1870+), updated annually.
  • Annual physical exam or statement of good health prior to assignment start.
  • 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.

Documentation and Onboarding Requirements

  • Submission required prior to assignment:
    • Professional resume/profile.
    • Two professional references.
    • Current RN license and primary source verification.
    • Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
    • Valid driver’s license or state ID matching address on file.
  • Onboarding requirements to be completed prior to or at start:
    • Signed assignment agreement and onboarding paperwork.
    • Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no filters).
    • Completion of specialty and core competency exams.
    • Completion of EPIC test-out.
    • Health screenings and immunization documentation.
    • Criminal background check including social security trace, OIG search, and national sex offender registry (updated annually).
    • Employment and education verifications.
    • Skills checklist for specialty, updated annually.
    • Confirmation of assignment documentation.

Additional Notes

  • This is a rotating weekday and weekend call position with variable shift lengths.
  • Floating to other nearby sites may be required.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced CVOR environment with flexibility to assist in general OR cases as needed.
  • Prior travel nursing experience is mandatory.
