OB Surgery Tech - Night Shift

Location: Denver, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 12 hours per day (36 hours per week)
Employment Type: Clinical Non-Nursing (Peaks)

Job Summary

• Perform scrub duties and maintain sterile supplies and sterile technique.
• Assist in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients.
• Assemble, organize, and complete case carts according to surgeon’s preference lists.
• Provide appropriate instrumentation, sutures, and supplies; maintain a sterile environment.
• Assist surgeon by passing instruments during cases.
• Count sponges, needles, blades, and instruments using proper technique and policy.
• Assist in maintenance and care of specimens; prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Handle specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials, and sharps per policy and standards.
• Assist with timely room turnover, including cleanup, replacement, and restocking of supplies and equipment.
• Care for instruments and equipment.
• May float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications.
• May be required to be on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.

Required Qualifications

• Valid OB Technician license in Colorado
• Minimum 2 years of OB Technician experience, including experience within the last year
• Surgical Technologist experience
• Surgical Technician Certificate
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent training in the US military
