Description
OB Surgery Tech - Night Shift
Location: Denver, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 12 hours per day (36 hours per week)
Employment Type: Clinical Non-Nursing (Peaks)
Job Summary
- Perform scrub duties and maintain sterile supplies and sterile technique.
- Assist in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients.
- Assemble, organize, and complete case carts according to surgeon’s preference lists.
- Provide appropriate instrumentation, sutures, and supplies; maintain a sterile environment.
- Assist surgeon by passing instruments during cases.
- Count sponges, needles, blades, and instruments using proper technique and policy.
- Assist in maintenance and care of specimens; prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Handle specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials, and sharps per policy and standards.
- Assist with timely room turnover, including cleanup, replacement, and restocking of supplies and equipment.
- Care for instruments and equipment.
- May float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications.
- May be required to be on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
Required Qualifications
- Valid OB Technician license in Colorado
- Minimum 2 years of OB Technician experience, including experience within the last year
- Surgical Technologist experience
- Surgical Technician Certificate
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent training in the US military
