Description
Echo Tech Position - Denver, Colorado
Job Summary
Perform diagnostic cardiac and vascular ultrasound exams under physician direction to identify abnormalities for patient diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct various ultrasound procedures using high-frequency sound waves to evaluate internal organs and vessels.
- Prepare exam rooms, obtain informed consent, and collect accurate clinical histories.
- Review patient history to select appropriate exam protocols; explain procedures and position patients.
- Assess patient status, perform diagnostic tests, and necessary interventions.
- Evaluate completed tests for quality and completeness; ensure quality images.
- Coordinate preparation of images and documentation for physician review.
- Document and communicate patient information accurately; relay physician or caregiver instructions.
- Facilitate effective communication and handoffs between shifts to ensure patient safety and care continuity.
- Monitor equipment reliability and safety; report maintenance needs.
- Manage supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and transport patients as needed.
- Participate in quality initiatives related to patient care, satisfaction, and workflow.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular attendance during scheduled shifts.
Work Schedule
- Day shift, 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
- Monday through Saturday; Saturday shifts may be full or half day depending on needs.
Contract Length
- Approximately 14 weeks.
Required Qualifications
- Echo Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proficient in ultrasound procedures and protocol selection.
