Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU Travel Position
Location: Aurora, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- ICU with 38 beds, Level II Trauma Center
- Patient types: Medical, Surgical, Cardiac, Neurosurgery, Post-Operative open-heart patients
- Advanced therapies: VV and VA ECMO, Balloon pump, Impella, CRRT
- Staff: 125 total; Day and Night shifts each have 1 Charge nurse overseeing 16-18 staff
- Patient ratios: 2:1 or 1:1 depending on acuity
- Equipment includes Stryker beds, Avea ventilators, GE monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Maquet IABP, Vigilance II monitors, Impella, ECMO (Maquet Cardiohelp, Medtronic Vital Flow), NICOM
- Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Meditech EMR experience
- Experience in CVICU/CTICU caring for immediate post-operative open heart surgery patients
Typical Procedures Performed
- Bedside procedures: Bronchoscopy, GI scopes, chest tube insertion, arterial and central line insertions
- Airway management and frequent drip titrations

Additional Notes
- This is a travel assignment in an ICU setting with a 7A-7P shift schedule
