Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) with Ortho/Spine Experience

Location: Davenport, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Variable start time between 06:00 - 08:00, typical shift 06:00 - 14:30
On-Call: 1 night per week and 1 weekend every 7 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in the Operating Room with a focus on Orthopedics and Spine cases.
  • Must have experience in Orthopedics and Spine surgical procedures.

Required Qualifications

Licensure and Education

  • Valid RN license in Iowa.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience.
  • Operating Room experience within the last year.
  • Orthopedics experience.

Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

Health and Compliance Requirements

  • Fit test required.
  • Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen (10-panel, no THC) completed within 30 days of start.
  • COVID-19 vaccine proof including booster by September 2025, or approved declination/exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
  • MMR: Proof of 2 vaccinations or IgG titer.
  • Hepatitis B: Must have started vaccination series prior to start.
  • Influenza vaccine is optional.
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with chest x-ray if positive TB.
  • Varicella: Proof of vaccination or IgG titer.
  • Physical/Health statement confirming fitness to work within the last year.
  • Current, non-expired Tdap vaccine or declination if no pediatric interaction.

Professional and Background Requirements

  • Resume and skills checklist within the last year.
  • Two professional references.
  • Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county) covering last 7 years, dated within 30 days of start.
  • Social Security Number verification.
  • Education verification of highest academic degree or diploma.
  • EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 30 days.
  • OIG (Office of Inspector General) exclusion check within 30 days.
  • NSO (National Sex Offender) check within 30 days.
  • Iowa-specific criminal history, sex offender, dependent adult & child abuse registry checks within 30 days.
  • Conflict of Interest Disclosure form.
  • Code of Conduct form.
  • Confidentiality and Information System Security Agreement.
  • Integrity and Audit Services form.
  • Non-Employee Upload form.
  • System Access form completed and uploaded one week before start.
  • Joint Commission CORE exam within the last year.
  • Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Training (Iowa only).

Additional Notes

  • Specialty exam and skills checklist must be attached and current.
  • All required documents and verifications must be uploaded to the credentialing system prior to onboarding.
  • On-call responsibilities include one night per week and one weekend every seven weeks.

This position is ideal for an RN with operating room experience in Orthopedics and Spine seeking a 13-week long-term assignment with variable early morning shifts and on-call duties.
