Description
Registered Nurse (OR) - Travel Assignment
Location: Miami, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Operating Room (OR)
- Number of Beds: 16 rooms
- Total Staff: 53 (including Director, Charge RN, Open Heart RN, surgeons, anesthesiologists, CNAs, LPNs)
- Day Shift: Director, 13 teams total, 15 RNs and 15 techs
- Night Shift: Mostly on-call, working up to 9:30 PM as volume requires
- Patient Ratios: 1:1, 2:1, or 3:1 depending on case
- Equipment Used: Sterile accessories, circulator, sponges, gowning, gloving, tubing, cords, cuts
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Call Requirements: Yes
Typical Procedures & Responsibilities
- Scrubbing and assisting during robotic surgeries, including Da Vinci system
- Preparing the operating room and arranging equipment
- Assisting doctors during surgeries
- Inspecting, maintaining, decontaminating, and repairing surgical equipment
- Keeping inventory records and performing pre- and post-surgical equipment repair
- Transporting and applying dressings
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in an acute care setting
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong experience in orthopedic and neurological surgery
- Robotics/Da Vinci scrubbing experience

- Facility is a 417-bed hospital with recent major upgrades including new patient tower and expanded OR, ICU, and ER capacity
