Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Hartford, Connecticut
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Night Shift)
Hours: 36 hours per week, every other week schedule
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in the Emergency Department.
- Requires Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Connecticut (verification must be dated within 30 days of start).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC).
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
- Specialty-specific competency testing must be completed within the last year.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in the Emergency Department (ED), with ED experience within the last year.
- Experience working with Level 1 or Level 2 trauma patients.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification.
- Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Fit test for respirator use.
- COVID-19 vaccine proof (including booster through September 2025) or approved exemption/declination (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
- Influenza vaccine is optional.
- Proof of MMR vaccination (2 doses or immunity titer).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series started prior to start date.
- Varicella vaccination or immunity proof.
- 2-step PPD or IGRA TB test (with chest x-ray if positive, per state requirements).
- Physical exam within the last year confirming fitness to work.
- 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC).
Professional & Compliance Requirements
- Signed code of conduct and confidentiality agreements.
- Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county for last 7 years) with SSN verification dated within 30 days of start.
- Education verification (highest degree or diploma/GED).
- Exclusion screenings including EPLS, OIG, NSO, OFAC within 30 days of start.
- Completion of system access forms and other onboarding paperwork prior to start.
- Specialty skills checklist provided by agency.
Additional Notes
- This position requires working night shifts with a 12.5-hour shift duration.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- All certifications and verifications must be uploaded and current at onboarding.
- Agency will provide specialty skills checklist for clinical contractors.
