Description
Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Hartford, Connecticut
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM (12-hour shift)
Hours: 36 hours per week, every other week schedule
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in the Emergency Room setting.
- Requires level 1 or level 2 trauma experience.
Required Qualifications
Licensure & Certifications
- Valid RN license in Connecticut.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification.
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience.
- Emergency Department experience within the last year.
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma or Level 2 Trauma patients.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Fit test for respirator use.
- COVID-19 vaccine proof (including booster by September 2025) or approved exemption/declination (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
- Influenza vaccine proof or declination (optional).
- MMR vaccination proof (2 doses or immunity titer).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series started prior to start date.
- Varicella vaccination proof or immunity titer.
- 2-step PPD or IGRA TB test; if positive, chest X-ray required within last year.
- Physical/health statement confirming fitness to work (exam within last year).
- 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC).
Professional & Compliance Requirements
- Signed Code of Conduct form.
- Completed I-9 form.
- Confidentiality and Information Security Agreement.
- Integrity and Audit Services form signed shortly before start.
- Specialty-specific competency testing within the last year.
- Skills checklist (provided by agency for clinical contractors).
- Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county for last 7 years) with SSN verification, dated within 30 days of start.
- Education verification (highest academic degree or diploma/GED).
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check dated within 30 days.
- OIG (Office of Inspector General) exclusion check dated within 30 days.
- Joint Commission CORE exam within the last year.
- NSO (National Sex Offender) check dated within 30 days.
- System access form completed and uploaded one week before start.
- Conflict of Interest Disclosure form.
- OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) sanctions check within 30 days.
Additional Notes
- Resume and two professional references required for submission.
- All certifications and verifications must be scanned and uploaded with expiration dates visible.
- Documentation must be current and compliant with all stated timelines.
This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room RNs with trauma experience seeking a 13-week long-term assignment on a 12-hour evening shift schedule.
