Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Rehab

Location: Nashua, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit, carrying out provider orders.
  • Complete comprehensive clinical documentation including care plans each shift.
  • Communicate patient information effectively through bedside shift reports, multidisciplinary rounds, and hourly rounding (AIDET).
  • Maintain compliance with unit-specific competencies and complete required learning modules on time.
  • Promote a culture of well-being and a positive atmosphere within the department.
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by following established procedures.
  • Identify and assist in correcting patient care safety issues; participate in daily unit-based safety huddles.
  • Stay current with nurse-sensitive indicators such as CAUTI, CLABSI, CDIFF, HAPU, FALLS, HH, and VAE.
  • Actively participate in quality initiatives and performance improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with nurses across departments and assist team members as needed.
  • Serve as a preceptor for new nurses and work collaboratively with nursing students and instructors.
  • Participate in peer feedback, employee engagement surveys, and unit problem-solving.
  • Delegate care and unit activities appropriately to nursing personnel.
  • Complete a dysrhythmia course prior to orientation completion (required for telemetry-based departments).
  • Maintain current nursing licensure and certifications required for the department.
  • For Occupational Health roles: enter orders for labs, x-rays, EKGs, follow up on tests per protocol, and document point-of-care tests.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum of 1 year of rehabilitation nursing experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Additional Information

  • Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid.
  • The employer reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
  • Commitment to safe practices and shared governance philosophy is expected.
  • Avoid unauthorized overtime and manage earned time off per policy.
