Job Opportunity: CT Tech

Location: San Pedro, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (5 shifts per week, 8 hours each, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours

Job Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
• Experience as an X-Ray Technician

Certifications & Licenses

• Valid CT Technologist license in California
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required
• ARRT Advanced certification required
• Fluoroscopy permit required

Additional Qualifications

• Must be able to float between CT and X-Ray departments
• Must participate in rotational on-call schedule

Required Documentation & Compliance

Background Checks

• Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Must include SSN Trace, Death Master Index, Counties, Nationwide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification, MVR (if applicable)
• Background must be updated annually
• Specific state and facility searches as applicable (e.g., Washington State Patrol Search)

Health & Safety

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Fit mask test (respirator clearance) required annually for travel candidates
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or declination forms accepted for:

  • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (vaccination series or signed declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
  • COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually

Drug Testing

• 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start (instant tests acceptable)

Competencies & Training

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
• Competency exams required by specialty
• Color Blind Testing if required by unit (minimum 80% score)
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification or exam for Labor & Delivery RNs only (not applicable here)
• Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS system
• Epic training modules required for applicable roles (not specified for this position)

References & Employment History

• Minimum 2 references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
• Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format for dates
• Work history verification may be required if exceptions to references are requested

Additional Notes

• Facility may call off once per pay period (2 weeks)
• Float policy acknowledgment required; may be required to float to other nearby facilities within reasonable distance
• Radiation badges issued by facility as applicable
• Badge photo required (passport style with neutral background)
• Must comply with all state-specific and facility-specific requirements as applicable

This position is ideal for a CT Tech with at least 1 year of experience, appropriate certifications, and flexibility to float between CT and X-Ray with night shift availability.
