Description
Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)
Location: Warrenton, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility & Unit Overview
- 97-bed acute care hospital with surgical services including robotics
- 24-hour Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Catheterization Lab
- Family Birthing Center and Intermediate Care Nursery on the fourth floor
- Unit: Combined Medical Surgical (MS) / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry
- Unit beds: 30 total, plus 6 overflow beds if staffing permits
- Patient population: Adult
- Patient ratios: 5 or 6 patients per nurse
- Equipment used: Baxter pumps, Omnicell, Spacelabs
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Meditech
Position Details
- Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Specialty: Medical Surgical, Progressive Care, Telemetry
- Shift: Nights (18:45 - 07:15)
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend hours: Rotating
- Call requirements: None
- Float requirements: Must float between two floors (MS and PCU)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience
- Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale
- Required education: Associate’s degree in Nursing
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Experience with Meditech EHR
- Familiarity with BiPAP, orthopedic surgery patients, telemetry, cardiac drips (non-titrating), and dialysis patients
- Post cardiac catheterization care experience preferred
