Required Qualifications

• Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• Minimum of 5 years of RN experience.
• Experience in a cardiac telemetry stepdown/PCU setting.
• Experience with cardiac care including:

  • TAVR, Watchman device, mitral clips
  • Heart catheterizations
  • Pre-op/post-op open heart care (transfers from CVICU)
  • Cardiac IV and PO medications and drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Heparin, Insulin)
  • Management of anticoagulants, CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias, NSTEMI, STEMI, PE
  • Post-op CABG care (>3 days)
  • Sepsis, pneumonia, stroke, observation patients
  • Use of TR band and groin management
  • Familiarity with related complications
• Nursing experience ranging from 6 months to 3 years in general nursing; management experience 0-3 years.
• Strong skills in collaboration, communication, critical thinking, organization, planning, problem solving, quality, reliability, safety, and risk management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Professional certification in a related nursing specialty.
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, TNCC as required by the assigned unit.
• Previous clinical nursing experience in acute care or ambulatory settings.

Additional Information

• Must complete skills checklists accurately.
• Confirm cardiac experience prior to submission.
• Participate actively in nursing shared governance and improvement initiatives.

This position requires specialized cardiac telemetry nursing skills and experience in a fast-paced acute care environment.
