Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Muncie, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36


Job Description

  • Work involves inpatient, emergency room, community hospital, adult ICU, and PACS environments.
  • Required experience with CT imaging of abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal system, brain perfusion, CT angiography (CTAs), and multiplanar reconstruction.
  • Daily caseload approximately 160 cases.
  • Unit handles a wide variety of cases from a Level III Trauma Center Emergency Department.

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or RQI accepted
  • ARRT CT Certification (Computed Tomography) – Required
  • State license verification within 30 days before start date (Indiana license)

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Outpatient imaging
  • Level I Trauma experience
  • Teaching hospital exposure
  • Pediatric units: Children’s Hospital, NICU, PICU
  • Skills in IV starts, phlebotomy, biopsies, aspirations, drainage, myelography
  • Experience with Cerner and GE scanner/equipment

Required Documentation and Compliance

  • Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
  • Background check within 90 days of start, including 7-year history and international search if applicable
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • Official transcript or diploma showing degree and graduation date (may be pending at start)
  • Education verification by third party (may be pending at start)
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required
  • Color blind testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent) with minimum 100% score
  • Unit competency exam required
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start date
  • Fit mask test within 12 months of start date (specific respirators approved)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start date
  • TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year of start date; if positive, chest x-ray and proof of positive history required
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required:
    • Rubeola (Measles): Positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
    • Mumps: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
    • Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted; history not accepted)
    • Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or signed declination required
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Strongly recommended but not required
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/30 – 3/31) with strict documentation rules

References and Employment History

  • Minimum of 2 references from recent employment verified within 2 years; references must be from charge, manager, supervisor, or above (team lead acceptable for allied health)
  • Current employment application including work history with explanations for any gaps of 30 days or more
  • Skills checklist completed within 12 months and updated annually

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position.
  • Facility-specific compliance and orientation documents must be completed as a priority prior to start.
  • On-site fit testing available only with prior approval; PAPR use requires facility approval.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in Indiana
  • Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
  • ARRT (CT) certification
  • Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NRP certification
  • TNCC certification
  • Experience working in inpatient, acute care, emergency room, community hospital, and adult ICU settings
  • Experience with PACS systems
  • Proficient in contrast administration
  • Experience with CT imaging of head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal system, brain perfusion, CT angiography (CTAs), and multiplanar reconstruction
