Description
Registered Nurse - Neonatal ICU
Job Details
- Specialty: Neonatal ICU (Level 3 care)
- Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Hours per week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend or more if willing
- Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
- On-Call: None; standby process may require availability to report within 1 hour if census decreases (not anticipated)
Unit Description
- 14 licensed beds (census currently higher)
- Care for babies 22+ weeks gestation
- No surgical patients
- Nurses may be reassigned to Pediatrics or Maternity units caring for babies if census decreases (unlikely)
- Multidisciplinary team includes physical therapists, nutritionists, speech therapists, and social workers
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide Level 3 neonatal care including CPAP, ventilators, and UVC lines
- Support labor and delivery during deliveries as needed
- Deliver strong developmental care to neonates
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
- Minimum 2 years of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Must have no pending compliance items; all credentialing and background checks must be completed prior to start
