Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Home Hospice
Location
- Waterville, Maine
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- Day shift, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM), Monday through Friday
- Every other weekend on call, ideally once a month
- Holidays worked in rotation with permanent staff
- Potential call requirement, but minimized when possible
Job Description
- Provide home hospice nursing care in a large service area covering both rural and urban locations
- Must be comfortable with winter driving conditions and using navigation tools
- Nurses are generally assigned within a 1-hour radius, though weather may affect travel times
- Two supervisors available Monday through Friday and on call
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maine
- Hospice nursing experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
- Experience in a Home Health setting
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Additional Information
- Patient population: Adults only
- Uniform: Black or khaki pants with white, black, or purple top
- Hospice visits typically earn 4-5 points per day; admissions 2-3 points
- The service area is divided into North and South regions, with up to 2 hours travel between them
This position is ideal for RNs with home health or hospice experience seeking a travel contract in Maine.
