RN Emergency Room - Wisconsin (Mequon)
Job Details
- Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM (overnight)
- Work Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW), Every Other Holiday (EOH)
- Location: May require floating onsite within skill set or to sites within 40 miles
- Patient Population: May include boarded patients in the Emergency Department (ED)
- Electronic Health Record: EPIC system used
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience
- Prior travel experience is required
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Current, valid RN license for Wisconsin (Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications (American Heart Association)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MOAB) certification
- Up-to-date Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
- Up-to-date Ascension Core Competencies (including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Color Vision test (updated every 3 years)
- Completion of Ascension Epic Test-Out and training checklist with signed attestation
- Completion of Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding and related education attestations
- Completion of Ascension Nova StatStrip training prior to clearance
- Valid Driver’s License/State ID (must match home state for compact license if applicable)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Documentation of Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Documentation of two Varicella vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted)
- Valid Tdap vaccination (no declinations accepted)
- Annual Fit Test for N95 respirators (specific mask models required)
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA test with negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire
- Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- Annual 12-panel drug screen (includes amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, PCP, methamphetamine, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, buprenorphine, methadone, oxycodone, morphine, ecstasy) with MRO review if applicable
- Influenza vaccine is optional; if declined, mask wearing is required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
Onboarding & Compliance
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and other required screenings within 90 days of assignment start; updated annually or after breaks in service >90 days
- Employment and education verifications completed within 90 days of start; updated annually or after breaks in service >90 days
- At least two professional references required prior to first assignment
- Completion of clinical skills checklist within one year of start; updated annually
- Signed assignment agreement and offer letter required for onboarding
- Forward-facing badge photo with white or blue background (no filters or alterations)
Additional Notes
- Must be able to float to other sites within 40 miles if needed
- Must maintain all certifications and compliance documents current throughout assignment
- Assignments may include care of boarded patients in the ED setting
