Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: Labor and Delivery
- Beds: 16
- Staff: 120 (Day and Night shifts)
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 to 1:2
- Equipment: Baxter Pumps, Phillips electronic fetal monitoring
- EMR System: Cerner, Fetal Ink
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in Labor and Delivery, including vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and C-hyst procedures.
- Immediate newborn care and high-risk patient management required.
- Floating areas may include Maternal-Fetal Medicine Unit (MFMU), Mother-Baby (MOMB), and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, AWHONN
- Experience working with high-risk patients
- Experience working with neonate patients
Preferred Qualifications
- Circulating experience in Labor & Delivery.
Work Schedule
- Approximately 36 hours per week.
- Weekends and on-call shifts are not required but may be available with approval.
