Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health
Location: Elko, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Position in Behavioral Health on the 3rd floor, Adult patient population
- 12-hour night shifts
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Every-other weekend rotation
- No call requirements
- Float to other departments as needed
- Unit has 16 beds with a patient ratio of 1:4
- Electronic Health Record system: Med Host
- Equipment used includes Vitals Machine, EMAR, Omnicell
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing experience in an inpatient setting within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training
Clinical Focus
- Care for adult patients with mental health diagnoses such as Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Personality Disorders, and Dual Diagnosis (primary mental health)
Work Environment & Culture
- Scrubs required; no specific color mandated
- Unit supports a young, active community with access to outdoor recreational activities nearby
- Fit testing for respiratory protection offered on-site
Additional Notes
- Must be located more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify as travel
- Weekly orientations provided
