    Description

    Operating Room Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

    Location: Torrance, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks
    Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 6:45 AM - 6:45 PM)
    Hours per Week: 36


    Facility & Work Environment

    • Acute Care Hospital with 356 staffed beds
    • Charting system: Epic
    • Free parking available
    • Scrub color: Any color allowed
    • Possible floating to a nearby facility within reasonable distance
    • Weekend requirement: 1 Saturday shift every 6 weeks
    • On-call requirement: 1 call shift every 6 weeks
    • Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager’s discretion
    • Locals accepted; pending licenses not accepted

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
    • Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

    Experience & References

    • First-time travelers accepted
    • Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
    • Employment application covering at least the last 5 years required
    • Skills checklist and competency exams required as applicable and must be updated annually

    Background & Compliance

    • Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
    • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
    • Education verification required for all candidates; international education requires additional documentation
    • State-specific background and registry checks as applicable
    • Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS required
    • Photo for badge required (passport style with neutral background)

    Additional Notes

    • Floating policy acknowledgment required due to possible float assignments
    • Must comply with facility-specific policies including controlled substance waste policy for ER RNs
    • Epic training modules required and must be completed promptly after orientation
    • Candidates must be able to work 1 Saturday shift and 1 on-call shift every 6 weeks
    • RTO (Return to Office) restrictions must be included at time of submission
