Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Night Shift)
Location: Janesville, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to provide patient care in a fast-paced ER setting. The role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, administering medications and treatments, performing patient assessments, and developing individualized care plans. The nurse will also participate in performance improvement activities and support patient safety and experience through critical thinking and appropriate escalation.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Certification
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or TNS (Trauma Nurse Specialist) Certification
Schedule & Work Environment
- Night shift schedule
- May be required to work at other Emergency Department locations within Janesville and Beloit
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to nursing standards and state laws
- Document patient care in compliance with standards of care
- Develop and execute individualized patient care plans, including patient and family education
- Participate in unit performance improvement and shared governance activities
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to support patient care across units
- Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and escalate concerns appropriately
- Engage in professional nursing development and peer review processes
Experience
- Prior travel experience is not specified or required
This position is ideal for a skilled ER RN with the required certifications and a commitment to high-quality patient care during night shifts.
