Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Michigan City, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Information

  • Unit: Emergency Department
  • Number of Beds: 32
  • Patient Ratios: 1:4 standard; higher ratio for low acuity patients
  • Patient Population: Medical, injured, and mental health patients across the lifespan
  • Equipment: Level I fluid warmer
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Epic

Position Details

  • Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Specialty: Emergency
  • Number of Openings: 1
  • Shift: Mid-shift (11:00 AM – 11:30 PM)
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
  • Weekend Shifts: Every other weekend
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Float Requirements: None

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Indiana
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an RN in Emergency Department, including experience within the last year
  • Certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Work Environment & Culture

  • Personality Fit: Team player
  • Dress Code: Navy scrubs; follow facility dress code guidelines
  • Onboarding: Completion of assigned education modules prior to first day required

Reporting & Orientation

  • Reporting Location: Hospital South Entrance
  • Additional onboarding and education modules assigned before start date
