Description
Registered Nurse - PreOp (Travel/Contract)
Location: Los Angeles, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (5 days/week, 8 hours/day, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Job Description
- Position in Acute Care Unit (ACU) Pre-Operative (PreOp) setting
- Requires 2 years of nursing experience
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum of 2 years of Preoperative nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam clearance within the past year
- Fit mask testing within 12 months prior to start (acceptable masks: 3M Aura 9205+ or 3M 1860 Small)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test (QGold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD) within 12 months or documentation of past positive with chest x-ray within 5 years
- Required immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (3-vaccine series or positive titer; declination accepted only with proof of prior vaccination or negative titer)
- Varicella
- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (September - March)
- COVID vaccination plus booster or documented declination
- Color vision exam (14-plate Ishihara test) may be required depending on unit
Compliance and Documentation
- Must complete required orientation checklists within first 30 days of assignment, including:
- General orientation checklist
- Unit-specific competency checklist
- CORE competency checklist
- Unit tour checklist
- Required to submit professional references (2 for travel/allied/per diem acute care; 1 for per diem non-acute care)
- Employment application required
- Annual skills checklist required
- Various facility-specific attestations and agreements required, including:
- De-escalation modules attestation
- Arbitration agreement
- Voluntary meal waiver
- Access request form
- Assault Response Competency (ARC) training within 30 days of start (live 4-hour training; $80 fee)
