Description
Registered Nurse – PCU (Night Shift) – Columbus, Georgia
Job Type
- Travel/Contract assignment
- Contract length: 12 weeks
Work Schedule
- Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 36 hours/week)
- Every other weekend off (6 shifts per 6-week schedule)
- Floating within facility and possibly to sister campus as needed
- No call requirements
- Holiday work expectations:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it
- If 2 major holidays fall, expected to work both
- If 3 major holidays fall, expected to work 2 of them
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
Patient Population & Unit Details
- Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
- Unit type: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with telemetry monitoring
- Bed ratio: 5 beds, average daily census ~4.5
- Unit systems: Epic (EHR), Pyxis (med dispensing), SBAR communication tool
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
