Description
Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Location: Springfield, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
Weekend Hours: As required by facility
Call Requirements: None
Job Summary
Provide direct patient care in a busy urban Level 1 Trauma Center Emergency Department. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups. Coordinate care with ancillary departments and maintain professional accountability consistent with nursing standards and Missouri Nurse Practice Act.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience within the last year
- Certifications: BLS issued by American Heart Association, ACLS, PALS issued by American Heart Association, TNCC, NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with trauma and pediatric patients
- High acuity patient care experience (200+ patients/day preferred)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Lift and push patients on stretchers and wheelchairs
- Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Work area is clean and air-conditioned
Additional Information
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required from November 1 to April 1; declinations not accepted
- No block scheduling; flexible guaranteed hours must be indicated on submission
- Time off requests (RTO) must be made on the back end of the assignment; no RTO approval in the first week
- Holiday time off limited to one request per assignment
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability
- Dress code: Black scrubs; unprofessional attire such as jeans not allowed
